The 7-day Product Hunt launch checklist for solo founders
Product Hunt launch: the 7-day solo playbook
We studied 20 successful indie maker launches and distilled the common thread into this day-by-day plan.
#Day 7 — Landing page
Build a Carrd page ($9/yr) with: one clear value prop above the fold, a demo GIF showing your product in action, and a beehiiv newsletter signup form (free plan). Do not overthink design — conversions come from clarity, not beauty.
#Day 5 — Launch team
Identify 10–15 people who will upvote and comment. Best sources: beta users, Twitter followers, indie hacker communities. Send each person a personalized DM with a direct link. Share what you built and why you are excited — do not ask for 'support.'
#Day 3 — Schedule
Write a 7-tweet launch thread telling your build story. Schedule it in Typefully for 12:01 AM PST on launch day (PH resets at midnight Pacific). Create a Hypefury evergreen campaign to recycle your best tweets for two weeks post-launch.
#Day 1 — Launch
Wake up at midnight PST. Post on Product Hunt. Immediately tweet your thread. Spend the first 3 hours responding to every single comment. Do not leave a single comment unanswered — this is what drives rankings.
#Day +1 through +7 — Measure
Open PostHog. Where did signups come from? Which channel had the best conversion rate? Invest your next growth cycle there. If Twitter drove 40% of signups, double your Typefully scheduling. If Reddit crushed it, plan more community posts.
