What Publer actually costs per social account — the numbers the pricing page doesn't add up for you

The actual numbers

Monthly billing, no additional members, Professional plan:

Business follows the same shape at a higher rate: $10 for one, $17 for two, then $7 each — $21 at three, $35 at five, $63 at ten and $126 at twenty.

Two things fall out of this that aren't visible on the pricing page.

The per-account rate drops at three, not gradually. One account costs $5 and two cost $9 — both above the $4 rate. From the third account onward it's a flat $4 each, and it stays $4 no matter how many you add. There is no volume discount beyond the free-tenth promotion.

Every tenth account is free, which makes two upgrades cost nothing. Nine accounts and ten accounts are both $36, because the tenth is the free one. Nineteen and twenty are both $72. If you're sitting at 9 or 19 accounts, the next one is already paid for.

Where the answer changes

Additional members are priced separately at $2 each on Professional, and they carry the same every-tenth-free promotion. The table above assumes zero additional members, which is the right assumption for one person running several accounts and the wrong one for a team.

Yearly billing is roughly 20% off, shown on the same calculator by switching Billing Frequency. One account drops from $5 to $4 a month, and the same proportion holds up the table.

The plan matters more than the count if you need reporting. Analytics, recycling and recurring posts are Business-plan features. If you need them, the relevant comparison isn't $4 versus $7 per account — it's whether you need the feature at all, because no number of Professional accounts unlocks it.

How to check this yourself

Publer publishes a calculator on its plans page. Set the billing frequency, step the social account count, and the price updates.

It's worth doing rather than reading a summary, including this one. Per-account pricing changes more often than plan pricing does, and a table like the one above is only true on the day it was built. Ours was checked on 28 August 2026.

One thing the calculator won't tell you: Publer states that every social account slot carries the same Professional feature set, rather than the first slot being fuller than the rest. That's worth knowing before you plan around it, because per-account pricing elsewhere often does degrade after the first seat.

How per-account pricing looks across the tools we catalogue

Of the 100 tools in our catalogue, three price by [social account](/categories/social-media) or channel rather than by seat or by usage: Buffer, Publer and Planable.

That's a small enough group to be worth naming, because it changes what "cheap" means. A tool at $6/month sounds cheaper than one at $20 until you notice the first price is per channel and the second isn't. When you compare a per-account tool against a flat-rate one, the only fair comparison is at your own account count — which is exactly the number a pricing page doesn't know.

Common questions

Is the $5 a base fee that gets added to each account? No. One account is $5 and two are $9, but three are $12 rather than $13 — from the third account onward the price is simply $4 × the number of accounts.

Does the free tenth account apply to members too? Publer states the promotion covers additional members on the same basis.

What's the cheapest way to run five accounts? Five accounts on Professional is $20/month, or $4 each. If you don't need analytics or recurring posts, there's nothing cheaper on offer within Publer.

Is there a free plan? Yes — three social accounts, excluding X, with 10 scheduled posts per account and 24-hour post history.

Do I get a discount for paying yearly? Roughly 20%, applied across the table.

When does upgrading cost nothing? Going from 9 accounts to 10, and from 19 to 20. Those are the free-tenth slots.
